HOLY HIVE DEADLY VALENTINE

New-York folk-soul favourites Holy Hive are gearing up for their self-titled sophomore album. We've already heard glimpses of the new record with singles 'Color It Easy', 'Ain't That The Way' and 'I Don't Envy Yesterdays'. All of which suggest an updated, more intimate and folky sound than before. Now, the band release another single from the forthcoming album, 'Deadly Valentine', a cover of a Charlotte Gainsbourg song. Featuring fast-plucked guitar, a beautiful, yet haunting mood is created. Time is kept with strange ambient hits, and the chorus is embellished with a whirlpool of backing vocals and piano. Holy Hive's self-titled album is due out on Big Crown Records September 24th. Keep your eyes peeled, but for now, enjoy 'Deadly Valentine'. -Ellie Rose-Davies
